The Santa Monica High School (Samohi) Discovery Building has been recognized with a Green California Schools Facilities Leadership Award for innovation in educational building design and application of sustainable and open building design principles. The Samohi Discovery Building is the first K-12 project in the U.S. to be built using Open Building principles. The facility is not only flexible for its current and evolving uses, but could be adapted to other uses in the future — a smart choice for community resilience and embodied energy.
